Another week, another letter. This one’s from a reader who is new to time travel. She writes:
Dear T.T.C.,
Great job on the site! I can’t tell you what an inspiration you have been to me. Thanks to all of your helpful advice, I’m no longer afraid to venture out into the vast reaches of the space-time continuum. But I have one little question before I take that first trip—what should I pack for traveling to the future? I know you can’t tell me exactly what to expect without damaging the timeline, but maybe you could help me out with some wardrobe and equipment decisions?
Thanks So Much!
Zelda B____
Dear Zelda,
Congratulations! It’s always exciting to hear about a first trip. Now to answer your question, it really depends how far into the future you’re going. We understand that it is generally a bad idea to publicly announce time travel departure and arrival dates, but what you should pack really does depend on how far you will be traveling. Not to worry, though, all is not lost! We recommend that you travel in short distances at first to gauge changes in fashion and social behavior. This is also a good way to minimize the unavoidable disorientation and shock associated with that first excursion into “the vast reaches of the space-time continuum”. As travel farther and farther, your body should acclimate to time travel and you should adjust to having to sneak around and blend in with other people/creatures. Think of it as training for a marathon run.
Be sure to write in and tell us how it goes!

Your blog is both creative and imaginative. How did you come up with the idea to write a blog like this? Time traveling is definitely fascinating to me. When I read your blog I actually thought about the show Heroes' and Hiro, the character who is actually breaking through the space-time continuum.
I enjoyed your blog with all the good links. I think there are a lot of people out there who are interested in time travel. So what do you think? Is there any truth to time travel being possible? I read about it some on wikipedia, but who knows?
You do have a really great idea, have you been looking at your stats at all to see if you have been picked up by people outside the class.
Since you like time travel I wonder if you have seen the movie Primer . It was made for less then 10,000 dollars. The idea is what allows them to play with time pardoxes and such.
This is a great idea. Your writing style is very clear and it actually sounds like two different people are writing the letter and then the response, which is good. Was this inspired by the show Heroes by any chance? There is a character named Hiro who I like to call the time traveling ninja. Anyways, this is a very neat blog and it is extremely interactive. Again good idea!
Hey! I finally get to comment in yours! I think the blog it's a pretty cool idea. Very original. It makes me wanna know more about the characters. If it were a movie, I'd love to see the place where this person is going to end up! Here's a site about time travel that I found.
Hey
It's great that you have incorporated some tips for people who are time-traveling for the first time. I like the tips on what to pack and suggestion not to travel too far into the past or future the first time. Very practical.
I found this video about a different type of time travel, I hope you like it.
